Why was the Group established?

The Group was formally established in September 2005 in response to the identified need for an opportunity for cancer patients and their carers to meet in an informal and social atmosphere to talk through shared experiences of the patient and carer cancer journey.

Who can join?

Anyone affected by cancer can join the group.  Patients, carers, friends and family are all welcome to join and receive support from other people who have shared similar experiences.

What can the Group offer me?

Members have the opportunity to meet socially and sometimes there is the opportunity to talk to a health professional such as a Macmillan Nurse.  The group are now also able to offer limited free complimentary therapy sessions to members.
